NEFU, its branches included, has 152 training programs, including 77 bachelor's degree programs, 46 master's degree programs, 17 higher education programs, and 12 vocational training programs.

Since 2010, NEFU has doubled the number of students in engineering and technical areas (from 19% in 2010 to 38% in 2019). New areas of training are being Introduced – medical physics, gene and cell technologies, clinical psychology, etc.

NEFU is the only university in Russia that trains in the entire segment of the diamond pipeline: from exploration and production, sales and cutting of rough diamonds, sales of diamonds, to the production of jewelry and its sale.

The medical cluster is actively developing, the core of which is the Institute of Medicine, which trains 1,867 students, residents and postgraduates. Every year, more than a thousand doctors of the Far Eastern Federal District improve their skills and obtain accreditation at a certified center.

Fundamental training in theoretical and applied mathematics, information and computing technologies, data analysis, and artificial intelligence received a high external rating.

100% of students complete their industrial placement in accordance with contracts with more than 700 employers. In 2019, 26 programs won the annual Best Academic Programs in Innovative Russia competition. NEFU ranks 12th in the country for the organization of additional professional education.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, all first-year undergraduate students, regardless of their field of study, are trained in digital end-to-end technologies.
