Volgograd State University is a leading university that organically combines education, research, expert and analytical services. About 9,000 students and Ph.D. students study at VolSU, including about 300 foreign students from 44 countries. VolSU’s infrastructure consists of 11 institutions, 1 branch in Volzhsky City, research library, Volunteer Center. The University implements more than 100 majors of various levels; Ph.D. programs cover 17 directions and 44 profiles; there are 6 dissertation councils.

The innovative infrastructure of VolSU includes 21 scientific and educational centers, 11 centers of collective use, 6 small innovative enterprises, 77 research and educational laboratories and student business incubator, student engineering bureau, student innovation agency.

VolSU has a wide geography of cooperation with foreign universities and organizations. VolSU provides a preparatory course "Russian as a Foreign Language" to non-Russian natives preparing them to enter majors. Our Summer School of Russian Language and Culture also enjoys popularity among foreigners.
