Students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) may be masters of materials, but their fellow academics at Harvard University are the biggest movers and shakers in this year’s top 10, rising six places in this year’s Materials Science rankings.

300 universities feature in this year’s ranking, an increase of 100 from 2016, allowing many universities to make their first ever appearance in the Materials Science ranking.
