About
Abu Dhabi University (also referred to as ‘ADU’ ) is a private, multi-campus, comprehensive institution of higher learning focused on professional programs to meet the workforce needs of the region. Based in the United Arab Emirates, ADU has a prominent presence in the country, with three campus locations. The home campus is located in the country’s capital of Abu Dhabi, and the branch campuses are located in the oasis city of Al Ain and in the vibrant city of Dubai.

At Abu Dhabi University, students are at the heart of everything we do. The university is comprised of five colleges: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Law and the University College, which delivers the general education requirements for all our undergraduate programs.
ADU is licensed and accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation – Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and attained ISO 9001:2008 certification in January 2010, and the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2011. For its support and patronage of entrepreneurship, ADU was also awarded the “Best Supporting University for Entrepreneurship” in the UAE and the Arab World in the Mohammed Bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders .The University also attained ABET accreditation in July 2014 for three of its engineering programs, and AACSB accreditation in March 2015 and more recently, EQUIS accreditation for all programs in the College of Business Administration.
In March 2016, the University also attained international institutional accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges’ Senior College and University Commission, a US-based accrediting agency, thereby making all its undergraduate and postgraduate degrees internationally recognized, and advancing it to the ranks of prestigious peers accredited by WSCUC such as Cal Tech, UCLA and Stanford University.
ADU is a gender-segregated institution for students studying undergraduate degrees, but is coeducational in graduate degree programs. Students of all nationalities are welcome at ADU, with 65 different nationalities currently represented. The University workforce is similarly diverse with 220 faculty and 271 staff of 39 different nationalities. Overall, the University currently serves nearly 6,850 students, including 1,350 military students and 1,850 graduate students in 23 bachelors programs, and 9 postgraduate programs (one post-graduate diploma, seven masters and one doctorate).
The university alumni has surpassed 10,000 graduates, comprising of 6,000 baccalaureate graduates and 4,000 postgraduates. We continuously strive to ensure our programs are aligned with the market requirements as well as the forecasted manpower needs. Furthermore, we take pride in the fact that we offer an American curriculum driven by best international practices. Therefore, our students are competitively prepared to face the global work environment.
