Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia

Located in Envigado, Colombia, is Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia (EIA), situated southeast of Medellin in the southern region of the Aburrá Valley.

Founded in 1978, EIA still has a strong focus on engineering today. Academic work began in 1979 with 38 candidates in Civil Engineering, then steadily the university expanded offering new programs.

Today, undergraduate programs include: Administrative engineering; environmental engineering; civil engineering; mechanical engineering. While postgraduate specializations include: Corporate finance; urban management and processes, and big data and business intelligence.

In 2010, the university was awarded the Institutional Accreditation granted by the Ministry of National Education, which places EIA within an exclusive national group of institutions.

It has 172 teachers; 1,721 Students; 18 Medical Professors; 215 Personal Admin and Services (PAS).

To make the most of free-time, students could visit the Inder Envigado, Envigado's Institute of Sports and Recreation, founded in 1998. There are multiple sports venues including, the Envigado Recreational Park, Alto De Los Sueños, and the main venue Polideportivo Sur de Envigado, which includes a BMX park where Olympic gold medalist Mariana Pajón once trained.

One of Inder's main projects is Envigado's cycleway, when on Sundays from 7 am-1pm, Inder restricts vehicles on a main street so runners, cyclists, skaters and walkers can have some fun.
