Hanken School of Economics
About
Hanken School of Economics, one of the oldest business schools in the Nordic countries, was established more than one hundred years ago. Today, Hanken is the only stand-alone business school in Finland. The strategy of Hanken includes profiling the School as a genuinely international and research-oriented business school with close ties to the corporate world.
Hanken offers academic programmes on all levels (BSc, MSc and PhD) at two locations, in Helsinki and Vaasa. The domestically popular undergraduate programme requires fluency in Swedish. The postgraduate programmes are offered with instruction in English.
Hanken also offers an internationally accredited Executive MBA programme (EMBA). The EMBA programme consists of two years of part-time modules that help professionals strengthen strategic decision-making and leadership skills. The language of instruction is English.
All students receive personal guidance and the faculty is easily approachable. Student groups are diverse: a mix of domestic students, international degree students and exchange students come together in the classrooms.
Hanken School of Economics takes pride in being at the forefront of research in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management and Organisation, and Marketing.
Hanken holds all three of the most prestigious international accreditations, EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA. Only 1% of all business schools in the world have obtained all three accreditations.
