Ulyanovsk State University was founded in 1988 as a branch of Moscow State University, the highest Russian educational institution, one of the most reputable universities in the world. In 1995, the branch of MSU in Ulyanovsk was transformed into Ulyanovsk State University. Ulyanovsk State University unites 8 independent faculties of higher education, 4 institutes and 4 subdivisions of secondary vocational education.The university is rightly proud of its human resources.
