University of Peradeniya

University of Peradeniya (UoP) has fourNationally recognized Postgraduate Institutes; namely Postgraduate Institutesof, Agriculture, Humanities & Social Sciences, Science and MedicalSciences. They offer full range of Postgraduate Degrees from PG. Diplomas toPhD.  Further they offer consultancyservices to the industry and conduct workshops to cater the needs of the localindustry and national priorities.

The nine faculties have their own PGprograms which make the UoP the best in the Country for multidisciplinaryresearch. Collectively, we have around 8500 postgraduate students of whom 200are foreigners. Each year 30 PhDs are awarded.

Postgraduate programs are furtherstrengthen by international collaborations. Split and dual degree programsoffered in conjunction with well recognized universities and researchinstitutes expose the students state of the art research in the world.

UoP hosts number of internationalconferences in the areas of Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Health Sciencesand postgraduates congresses in the fields of Agriculture, Science and SocialSciences and Humanities.

UoP has a rich history in research furtherstrengthened by the diversity of research areas. This is exemplified from thefact that we are ranked number one in terms of qualitative and quantitativeresearch output in Sri Lanka.
