As one of the world's leading and largest graduate business schools, INSEAD brings together people, cultures and ideas to change lives and to transform organisations. A global perspective and cultural diversity are reflected in all aspects of our research and teaching. More than ten years ago in October 1999, INSEAD took a bold step to differentiate itself from other business schools: it opened a campus in Asia and became the first business school to have two fully-fledged campuses with permanent faculty - one in Europe, the other in Asia. The school had already been providing executive education programmes in Asia for many years through its affiliate, the Euro-Asia Centre. The decision for a permanent campus was made despite the July 1997 Asian financial crisis, as INSEAD held firm in its belief in Asia. From the 'pioneering class' of 53 students from 26 countries in the initial intake in 2000, the number of MBA participants jumped to 384 students from 64 nationalities in 2010. The campus now offers full MBA, Executive MBA, PhD and Executive Education programmes, and houses more than ten Centres of Excellence, focusing on the latest in business research.
