The Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) is a symbol excellence in the Central Asian region for high quality research and its very credible postgraduate programs, including PhD studies. The University has eight schools and five research institutions: Scientific and Educational Center for Alternative Energy and Nanotechnology (SEC AEN), Bekturov Institute of Chemical Sciences, D.V.Sokolsky Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry, the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies KBTU (IEIT), Institute of Oil and gas. There are 20 state of the art research laboratories where more than 100 researchers work. BTU is attracting investment and widely known among international and Kazakhstan companies and was highly ranged by Samruk Kazyna.

KBTU offers master’s and PhD programs in the latest scientific areas. The University’s programs are designed for meeting modern economic and industrial demands. KBTU has launched new master’s programs in Bioinformatics, Nanomaterial, Industrial Project Management, Facility Management and several others. The University offers research programs and postgraduate opportunities in oil and gas, chemistry, geology and information technologies.
