Lankaran State University

Based on years of traditions our university plays an important role in the life of the country and the region. LSU is the only university in the south region. Currently 3143 bachelors 109 masters and 53 doctorates study, more than 300 university staff work at the university. In 25 years more than 8500 alumni have graduated from the university. Every year within the framework of cooperation with regional and other institutions the "Alumni Fair" is organized for graduates. The university has its own Tourism Practice Centre which called "Seaside" hotel. Hotel is available to guests visiting to our university. At the same time our students of specialities "Tourism and Hotel Management" and "Food Products Engineering" also professor-teaching staff from the faculties use this centre for practice.

LSU is a member of Assosiations of the State Universities of Caspian Region Countries, The Euroasian Universities, Azerbaijan-Russia Higher Educational Institutions and Caucasus University. The University has developed educational and scientific relations with more than 50 foreign universities and signed bilateral agreements. Cooperatinal agreements also have been signed between the higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan Republic. Lankaran State University is the participant of international grant project such as NATO, TASIS, INTAS, ERASMUS+, HORIZON 2020 and within the framework of these projects our University has conducted student and teacher exchange programs with many foreign universities. Meantime LSU also has student exchange with local universities.

LSU infrastructure includes 3 educational buildings, 11 laboratories, a language lab, an english language centre, a veterinary cabinet, an animal farm, a dormitory for girls, a dormitory for boys, a gym, 2 mini and 1 large football fields, a fitness hall, a scientific library, 3 reading rooms, a conference hall, the service apartments for professor-teaching staff, a publishing house and a green house. Citrus plants and agricultural products are growing in 3 ha field of the university. Therefore 5 ha of area in Lankaran and 3 ha in Astara are separated for experiment. There are canteens and parks for students to spend their leisure time. In our educational institution there is a large conference hall, that meets all modern requirements for holding republical and international scinetific conferences and cultural events. LSU has 3 new modern laborotories, providing with modern equipments from England, Russia, China: "Veterinary laboratory", "Food Products Technology" laboratory, "Safety of Food Products" laboratory, "Animal Surgery" laboratory.
