MARI STATE UNIVERSITY

Mari State University is a classical university of Mari El Republic, a member of the Volga Region's Association of Classical Universities, a member of the Russian Association of Classical Universities and the founder of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities. Mari State University is founded in 1972.

Today Mari State University is recognized as a center of education, science and culture. It has 6 faculties, 5 institutes, about 9,000 students, a highly professional team of professors, lecturers and researchers, more than 570 lecturers, including about 100 doctors and professors, 400 candidates of sciences and associate professors.

The research work is being developed in 14 major areas of human, physical and mathematical, biological and chemical, agricultural and technical profiles. They are headed by leading scientists - doctors of sciences. Research is-sues annually broaden thanks to prospective areas of science and technology.

International activities at the university focus on the following areas: the development of bilateral relations in the field of interuniversity science and education; participation in scientific researches, international scientific educational programs and projects; holding of international scientific forums, conferences, seminars and symposia; an academic and cultural exchanges of students and professors; the development and implantation of educational programs for foreign students.
