TUSUR University offers 38 Master programs, and postgraduate programs in 6 areas of research.

Postgraduate programs are available for those students who have a Master/Specialist degree and wish to continue their education to obtain a Candidate of Science degree. The Candidate of Science academic degree is certified with a state diploma.

Every Candidate student has a research supervisor. As a rule, the supervisor is a member of the university faculty who has an academic degree, carries out research and delivers lectures. Highly qualified faculty and staff provide research supervision to postgraduate students at TUSUR. A research supervisor offers advice on the subject, helps identify appropriate research methods, provides assistance in experimental set-up and recommends helpful scientific literature. At the same time, the main focus of postgraduate programs is on independent effort of student to acquire research experience and master research methods. To complete the program, a student is expected to prepare a final thesis and defend it at the meeting of the Dissertation Council specializing in the research area of the thesis.
