The Universidad de Montevideo (UM) is a pioneering university located in Montevideo, Uruguay. Since its foundation, UM has developed a national and international reputation for its commitment to academic excellence, research, technological innovation, and social responsibility.
UM offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses within five faculties: the School of Business Administration and Economics, the School of Communications, the School of Engineering, the School of Law, the School of Humanities, the Business School (IEEM), and the Center for Biomedical Science.
UM cultivates close relations with industrial, public and non-profit sectors. Since 2000, students have completed internships in 1,500 companies and organizations. International students can participate in the credit-bearing Internship Program or the Service- Learning Seminar, a course that combines class time with an opportunity to serve the Montevideo community.
UM partners with institutions and universities around the world. The Office of International Affairs coordinates a successful student exchange program, with the number of international students increasing 130% in the past 12 years. Uruguay forms part of the Southern Cone of South America. The capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, is located along the River Plate. In Montevideo, Latin American character combines with European atmosphere. UM´s campuses are situated in a quiet residential neighborhood close to city centre.
