Since 1971, UQAC has been giving students from Alma, La Malbaie,
Saint-Félicien and Sept-Îles the possibility to study in their
respective regions. These off-campus study centres, designed to
facilitate access to university studies in the region, offer programs in
a wide range of appealing subjects such as Administration, Human
Resources Management, Health Sciences, Education Science, Psychology,
Arts and Humanities, Environment and Computer Science. Using televised
teaching, students can simultaneously take a training course from
Saguenay.
Presently and since several years now, the Institution is working on the
research level in order to ensure that their technological discoveries
and scientific breakthroughs become a reality in the university setting
not only in Quebec, but also abroad. Accordingly, UQAC would like to
become - with its professors, research chairs, laboratories and students
- a reference for niches of excellence.
