Universidad de Manizales is a Higher Education Institution with Institutional Accreditation of High Quality. It is a nonprofit and a private university. The Universidad de Manizales began its history 46 years ago, now has more than 8,000 students in 17 undergraduate programs and 30 graduate programs.

The Universidad de Manizales has three PhD programs:

•PhD in Social Sciences, Childhood and Youth

•PhD in Development Sustainable 

•PhD in Training since Diversity

In addition, Universidad de Manizales offers a Postdoctoral Research Program in Social Sciences, Children and Youth in Center for Advanced Studies in Childhood and Youth in a joint venture between Universidad de Manizales and CINDE.

Universidad de Manizales has 18 research groups distributed by area of expertise and 4 research centers as follow:

•Centre for Advanced Studies in Children and Youth

•Research Center on Environment and Development - CIMAD

•Studies Center in Knowledge and Culture of Latin America –CECCAL 

•Center of Socio-Legal Research

The Universidad de Manizales has an Inter-institutional and International Relations Office which is a strategic process from the High Direction in order to develop the positioning of Universidad de Manizales in local, national and international scenarios. The University has 53 agreements with strategic partners in 15 countries for the academic cooperation. The Universidad de Manizales is a member of international education networks as: Columbus, IOEH, CCYK and It is a member of 55 academic and scientific networks in the knowledge’s areas of the University.
